The AMI platform is an integrated system of smart meters, data concentrators, communications networks, and data management systems that enables bidirectional communication between utilities and customers.

Head-End-Systems (HES)

The head-end system (HES), also known as meter control system, is located within the data centre. The HES directly communicates with the meters. It comprises of the

  • The ICT hardware: Data Centre – servers, storage, network, cabling, racks, etc DR site.

  • The software platform: Operating systems, databases, applications, etc.
